The Milwaukee Comedy Festival has announced dates for its 8thannual extravaganza.
The showcase of local and national talent performing improv, sketch and standup comedy will run from Aug. 1 through Aug. 4 at the Next Act Theatre space, 255 S. Water St., in Milwaukee’s Walker Point neighborhood.
Watch this site for further details and updates, including how to submit applications to perform in the Comedy Fest.
MEANWHILE, to help build momentum and support for Wisconsin’s largest comedy event, consider catching a new sort of show this weekend.
At 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at Milwaukee’s Arcade Theatre, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., a show called Final Draft will present four one-act plays.
The plays will be based on the collaborative improvisations of 24 performers gathered earlier in the day and randomly assigned to teams of six.
The brainchild of Patrick Schmitz, Final Draft costs $5 and benefits the aforementioned Milwaukee Comedy Festival.
