Our friends at Wisconsin Hybrid Theater tell us: “You had to read it in high school, whether or not you remember.”

And before you say you would prefer not to, let’s just note that they’re referring to Herman Melville’s short story “Bartleby, the Scrivener: A Story of Wall Street.”

WHT will present “our comedic spin on this tale of metaphysical angst” in its next live broadcast, which is at 8:30 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 3. The broadcast – a vintage old-timey radio drama – will be on WMSE (91.7-FM) as well as www.wmse.org.

“Tune in Sunday to hear Ira Hampton, Jack Farwell, Deb Hampton, and special guest Ogden Murray King III,” WHT says via Facebook, “with music by Joan Van Burenand sound effects by Chris Knapp.”
