3’s Company

This is quite a week for our friends at the Caste of Killers Comedy Collective. They’re celebrating three full years of organizing open mics and shows and showcases. They’ve been growing both the capacity for and the appreciation of standup comedy in Milwaukee and beyond. And, true to their mission, their celebration includes an audience.

The Caste kicks off its anniversary show at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, at the Karma Bar & Grill, 600 E. Ogden Ave.

From Facebook: “Caste of Killers Comedy Collective is turning 3 years old. And just like any good 3-year old’s birthday party there will be drinking and swearing and sex with strangers…also cupcakes, there will be complimentary cupcakes.(Those are the ones that tell you how nice your teeth are before you eat them.)

On the bill that evening are Caste of Killer co-founders Jason Hillman and Damon Millard, along with   Mario Robinson, Lara Beitz, Steve Breese, Eric Thorson, Ryan Mason and Shawn Shelnutt.

But that’s not all. Thanks to the Killers, you can catch a comic nearly every night in Milwaukee. For instance, if you can’t get a cupcake at the Karma:

* Try the Killer Open Mic, at 9 p.m., Thursday, March 14. That’s at the Art Bar in Riverwest, 722 E. Burleigh St.

* Circle back to the Karma at 8:30 p.m., Friday, March 15, for the Caste’s Milwaukee Stand-Up Comedy Showcase. Featured comics include:
  • Ryan Mason
  • Eric Thorson
  • Derrick Carter
  • Erik Edmund Niewiarowski
  • Stefan Davis, and
  • Chastity Washington

* Catch up with Damon Millard as he appears with Dave Waite and William Krolowitz at the Comedy Café, 615 E. Brady St. Show times are 8 p.m., Thursday, March 14; and 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16.
