Expect the Unexpected

It should come as no surprise that Milwaukee’s Femme Fatale of Funny is launching its latest show.

The all-woman comedy troupe known as broadminded is performing at 7:30 p.m., on Friday April 5 and 12 and Saturday April 6 and 13, at the Tenth Street Theater, 628 N. 10th St. Tickets are $10 at www.broadmindedcomedy.com. (For another $10, you can get a broadminded shirt.) The show is suitable for comedy lovers 15 and older.

In keeping with the show’s title – “Surprise!” – broadminded has been keeping details close to the vest, but we have learned that some performances feature a bonus appearance by another Milwaukee comedy group, including:

  • April 5 – Fig & Fig, new long-form improvisational comedy
  • April 6 & 12 – Funny, Son of Story, the improv comedy team of Mike Walker and Jazmin Marie Vollmar
  • April 13 – Two and a Half Gay Men, the short-form improv comedy of Jacob Bach, Robby McGhee and Nevin Langhus

The broads (as they call themselves – it’s not appropriate for you to call them that, though) include Stacy Babl, Anne Graff LaDisa, Melissa Kingston and Megan McGee, who have been performing sketch comedy in Milwaukee and beyond since they debuted in 2006 at the first Milwaukee Comedy Festival.
