Comedy openly showcased

The Caste of Killers Comedy Collective continues building Milwaukee’s stand-up arsenal by arranging open mics and showcases and encouraging the work of both wannabe and established comics.

This week’s schedule includes Open Mic Under the Stairs, at 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at Karma Bar & Grill, 600 E. Ogden Ave. It’s free.

(It’s the same night asOpen Improv at the Arcade Theatre, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., Lower Level, which also is free – or $3 to participate. Open Improv starts at 7 p.m. and is supported by the Milwaukee Comedy Festival. Local comedians have been spotted two-timing both the Open Improv and Open Mic Under the Stairs on the same night.)

And at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, the Caste presents its Milwaukee Comedy Stand-Up Showcase, at Karma Bar & Grill, 600 E. Ogden Ave. Nick Ledesma is scheduled to be the emcee with the comedy styilings of:
