Get out your calendar and set your GPS* because this is a busy week at Milwaukee’s Arcade Theatre, which is part of the Underground Collaborative at 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., lower level.
Another round of improv workshops started Monday at the UC.
On Wednesday, the ongoing Open Improv resumes at 7 p.m. for just $3 per session (Or for $10, you can get a frequent improviser card that entitles you to four sessions and discounts to Milwaukee Comedy shows.)
Thursday marks the return of the Arcade Comedy Show, at 7:30 p.m. For $10 in advance ($15 at the door), you’ll catch the standup comedy of Nate Seek, Kyle Scanlan, and Matty Field along with improv from the new group Fig & Fig (featuring Vince Figueroa and Anna Figlesthaler ) and My So Called Dating Life.
On Friday, the Tall Boys improv troupe debuts at 8 p.m. with Erik Koconis, Lee Rowley, James Boland and Robby McGhee. Plus, you’ll get standup comedy from Beth Lewinski and a FREE commemorative Schlitz Tall Boy for ticketholders who can verify they’re old enough to drink one. Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
To cap the week, the monthly Retro Comedy Night starts at 8 p.m., Saturday. It also is $10 in advance and $15 at the door (It pays to plan ahead.) Super very special guest: famed movie and television star Mark Metcalf will join the show! Retro Comedy Night includes standup from Eric Thorson and Tyler Menz, improv comedy and a surprise nostalgic TV sitcom episode performed live on stage. In case that’s still not enough, the show will have give-a-ways too.
