Don't just take our word for it. Pick up the latest Shepherd Express and read how Jake Kornely is making an impact on Milwaukee comedy.

And don't believe everything you read. Check out Kornely as he hosts the Comedy Show Comedy Show at Landmark Lanes, at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15. As Kornely tells the Shepherd's Nick Olig:

For me, hosting this show feels like hosting a party. I control the atmosphere and the mood of the show, and I break the ice by performing first. This show will feature comedians Alex Anderson and Allison Dunne, who are both relatively new to the local comedy scene, but I have seen them both working hard at open mics and I'm excited to have them on. It will also feature Greg Bach. His stand-up focuses on stories from his personal life and his observations. Also he has a pretty impressive beard.

So, yeah. Check out Greg Bach's beard, too. The address is 2220 N. Farwell Ave. And Kornely says it fills up fast, so click here for $6 tickets

That's not all. Kornely also hosts the Comedy Show Comedy Show Open Mic, at 8:30 p.m. every Monday at Bremen Cafe, 901 E. Clarke St.

Besides doing a lot of standup elsewhere, Kornely also is co-host with Tyler Menz of the Goodnight Milwaukee Show, next scheduled for 9 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Arcade Theatre, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., lower level.
