You know it’s a special week when in the middle of it you’ve got something fun and free and creative to enjoy.

That’s the case this week. Because this Wednesday – Wednesday, Sept. 24 – is the next Free Open Improv. That’s why.

Members of Sketch Marks take on all comers – from novice to pro – and gently guide them through 60 minutes (usually more) of spontaneous comedy scenes. Brief lessons and exercises culminate in an improvisational jam that amuses and invigorates all the participants.

We haven’t had any treatable injuries yet, but once someone exited a scene saying something about having peed.

Be part of the merriment.

Free Open Improv, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The every-other-Wednesday Free Open Improv is presented by Milwaukee Comedy. It’s in the Arcade Theatre, part of the Underground Collaborative, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., lower level.*

*That’s down the circular staircase from TJ Maxx, which paid no promotional fee to be mentioned in this post. You’re welcome.
