Comedians can hone their improvisation, sketch and writing, and stand up comedy skills in a safe and professional environment while building relationships with other comedians. Educational advancement is offered through professional workshops.
What is Long-Form? Long-form improv is story based improv, often incorporating short scenes connected by story, characters or themes.
Milwaukee Comedy’s long-form improv workshops focus on saying “yes” rather than “no,” playing to the top of your intelligence, making and trusting your choices, supporting your fellow players and most importantly, having fun on stage!
The Building Blocks of Long Form Improv:
A step by step process to performing long form improv. Improvisers can get caught up in form but our instructors want you to get a better grasp on scene work which is the true building block of improv. This three part workshop takes focus on creating unique and interesting characters, finding truthful and grounded relationships, and constructing a satisfying show by finding the game, making timely callbacks, and using every part of the buffalo.
This workshop consists of 3 two-hour sessions on Monday, March 16, 23rd and 30th from 6:30-8pm. The price is $40, Class size is limited so sign up soon!
Classes will be at The Underground Collaborative, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., Lower level of the Grand Ave Mall (level below TJ Maxx).
