Don Waterski Goes Up Nort’
Apr 7 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Don Waterski is an eccentric woodsman from Wisconsin who takes the audience on a tour of the forests. He teaches them about how trees actually reproduce, what to do when you come across a bear, and what the heck a hodag is (it’s a mythical beast that stalks the Northwoods, dontcha know?) The show is very interactive as Waterski continually asks the audience for help, but ultimately seems to only get more confused. Will you learn new insights into how to survive in the woods? Probably not. Will you have a good time anyway? You betcha!

While the humor of this show is extremely silly, the show is far from family-friendly. Trust me, you don’t want to explain to your children what really happens this far into the woods…

Jake Kornely is a comedian originally from Milwaukee, who now resides in Los Angeles. He’s taken a number of improv and clown classes taught by John Gilkey of Cirque Du Soleil (Idiot Workshop), Deanna Fleysher (Butt Kapinkski, Naked Comedy Lab), Josh Fadem (UCB Theater), Miles Stroth (The Pack Theater), Phil Burgers (Dr Brown), as well as classes at the Clown School and ComedySportz-Milwaukee. He currently performs with the avant-garde improv comedy troupe, Der Kinder.

Subjective: A Comedic Showing
Apr 13 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Subjective: A Comedic Showing @ Var Gallery | Milwaukee | Wisconsin | United States

Comedic and artistic tastes are subjective. Some people like Bill Burr and Picasso. Others prefer Maria Bamford and Andy Warhol. SUBJECTIVE, exclusively at Var Gallery and Studios, is a showcase where the comedians are the artists and their sets, the work of art. Each comic on display will prepare an artist statement and at the close of the show, we’ll take questions and critiques from the audience. By the end of the night, our hope is that there is no question in the audience’s minds: comedy is art.

A Town Hall with Paul Ryan Starring Chris Fairbanks
Apr 16 @ 7:30 pm
A Town Hall with Paul Ryan Starring Chris Fairbanks @ Club Garibaldi | Milwaukee | Wisconsin | United States

Join comedian Chris Fairbanks (Comedy Central, Conan, TruTV) as we explore what would happen if Paul Ryan actually held a town hall like he’s supposed to. Come with your own questions and comments on the state of the GOP and the KGB in Trump’s America, the night will start with standup comedy from Andie Main and Chris Fairbanks.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind, one-night-only night event at Club Garibaldi! Political Satire at its finest, at the expense of Wisconsin’s-own, Paul Ryan.
About Chris Fairbanks:

Originally from Montana’s Big Sky Country, and currently residing in Los Angeles, Chris Fairbanks headlines comedy venues internationally. His fast paced, quirky, and constantly improvised act has been showcased on Comedy Central, Conan, Last Comic Standing, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Seeso.
For TruTV, Chris was a cast member and director of ‘World’s Dumbest’ and the host of “Almost Genius”. In the past year, he’s been featured on @midnight w/ Chris Hardwick, FOX’s new (and very similar) series Punchline, and the film ‘Punching Henry’ starring JK Simmons. Chris also has upcoming appearances on HBO’s ‘Crashing’, Amazon’s ‘One Mississippi’, and Comedy Central’s upcoming series ‘Corporate’.
Chris’ comedy album, “Fairbanks!” was named one of Amazon MP3’s Top Ten. He also hosts the popular podcast, “Do You Need a Ride”, with Karen Kilgariff on All Things Comedy. They shuttle their guests to or from the airport, somewhat dangerously, in a ’08 Honda Accord mobile sound studio.

Chris is also self-employed as a freelance artist, illustrating
for magazines, skateboards, album covers, etc.

About Andie Main:

Andie Main is a Portland based comedian who keeps busy by producing/hosting The Doug Fir Lounge’s summer series The Cool Kids Patio Show, and her politically themed series called Revolution Comedy, which organizes fundraisers for progressive causes like Planned Parenthood, The ACLU, and Don’t Shoot PDX. At this bizarre moment in our nation’s history, her efforts have contributed over $10,000 to #theresistance and although she is a lifelong punkrocker, is stoked to see these shows selling out regularly.

Festival credits include The Comedy Exposition, repeated appearances at SF Sketchfest and The All Jane Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, Seattle Sketchfest, Portland Pride, Treefort Festival and Cromfest. She has recently performed for sold out crowds at UCBeast, UCB Chelsea and The Stand Nightclub in NYC, and esteemed shows in LA like The Rabbit Hole and Put Your Hands Together. When in Portland she is a fixture on the NW circuit and a regular at Helium Comedy Club.

She is a regular feature for comedians like TJ Miller, Myq Kaplan and David Huntsberger and after the shows they’ve all said, “hey Andie that was great!” and got brunch because you can order brunch whenever you want in Portland.

In her spare time, she enjoys taking hikes with her not-so-smart dog, pizza, making weird art, nature documentaries and yelling about the patriarchy.
