Month ending in laughter

One good thing about the end of the month is the last Wednesday night.

That’s when the Caste of Killers Comedy Collective emcees an open mic showcase at Milwaukee’s Comedy Cafe.

From Facebook: “Some of the best up-and-coming comedians along with long time local favorites hit the stage and spread the laughter. Admission is free and you never know who you’re going to see. Often nationally touring comedians pop in to do a set.”

The free show starts at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 615 E. Brady St.

To register to perform, contact Caste of Killers co-founder (and quite a standup in his own right) Damon Millard, at damon@cokcomedy.com.

And if you can’t wait until Wednesday, catch the free open mic starting at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the Del Monte bar, 7615 W. State St., in Wauwatosa.

Like Damon, Erik Koconis, the host of Comedy Night at the Del Monte, not only practices comedy, he preaches it. (See the post below on Erik’s end-of-the month Comedy Conclave.) The Del Monte show

happens to cap off a writing workshop Erik is running earlier Tuesday evening.

(In case you’re wondering, Erik also doodled the accompanying logo.)
