Sketch 22

Sketch 22 – July 11

Twice a year, it’s Milwaukee’s sketch comedy equivalent of the World Cup, the Olympics and Summerfest.

It’s an event that’s an occasion. Some of Milwaukee’s most talented writers, directors and actors come together for 22 hours to create, cast, rehearse and present 10 original comedy sketches.

Sketch 22 – 7 p.m., Sat. July 11, ComedySportz

The creation of Patrick Schmitz – who, among other things, is co-producer of the Milwaukee Comedy Festival and playwright/director/producer of this summer’s “The Comedy of Hamlet … Kinda Sorta” – Sketch 22 began in 2008 and is going on its 15th show.

Admission is $10, which amounts to $1 a sketch, if you do the math.

Proceeds from Sketch 22 will benefit the 10th Milwaukee Comedy Festival, which runs Aug. 6-9 at the Next Act Theatre space as well as Milwaukee Turner Hall. Click here to learn more about the Milwaukee Comedy Festival.
