The Alchemist Theatre goes sci-fi for three weeks with the V Core Productions presentation of an original comedy, “Natalie Ryan and the Brain Thieves.”
Assisted by an oblivious college student and a brain in a jar, whiz kid Natalie Ryan travels across both time and the universe in a quest to save Earth from the dark designs of an evil professor and blue aliens.
Vince Figueroa and Beth Lewinski – both of Meanwhile Improv Troupe, among other affiliations – wrote the play. Fjosh Redbeard, technical director for Pink Banana Theatre, designed the set and coordinates the special effects – including a speaking part for the brain.
In a news release, Figueroa describes the performers as a diverse team of “actors, comedic improvisers and sketch performers.”
“The cast, this great Milwaukee cast, is the most talented group of people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with,” Figueroa says.
“Natalie Ryan and the Brain Thieves” runs April 28 through May 14. Tickets are $15 online or in person at the Alchemist Theatre, 2569 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.
