The Milwaukee Comedy Festival is scheduling its sixth summer of events, expanding from sold-out performances last year to 30 groups in seven performances Aug. 4-7. A pledge drive has begun to raise both awareness and funds. For as little as $15, you not only help out Wisconsin’s largest comedy event but you get acknowledged for your generosity in the festival’s program and on its website. Premiums are available at contributions of $50 and more. Money raised is aimed at:
- providing travel stipends to artists performing in the festival (You’ve noticed gas prices.)
- offering stipends to festival staff members
- increasing marketing efforts to make the most of the festival’s new venue at ComedySportz
