Three on One

Three men performing two one-man shows at the same time. OK, so the shows are in different places. Do the math.

The one-man one-man show is award-winning Milwaukee comic John McGivern, who will contribute his Irish-Catholic storytelling to the grand opening of the fellowship hall at the Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 21, at 1529 Wauwatosa Ave. Advance tickets are $20 apiece or two for $35. Seating is limited to 200, but if any spots are left over, they’ll sell for $25 at the door. Click here to order tickets.

Also Saturday, Alex Grindeland and James Boland are doing what they’re billing as a one-man show at the Alchemist Theatre: Al and Jim’s One-Man Show.

From the web: “These two improv virtuosos will use audience suggestions to create completely improvised scenes. Alex and James will individually compose separate worlds in which they play every character. Then the men will work together to combine the dual narratives, creating one hilarious, epic tale.”

Al & Jim’s one-man show starts at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 21, at the Alchemist, 2569 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. Tickets are $5. Click here to order.
