Improv improves

You find it funny, so it makes you feel good. But now researchers are learning that performing improv actually can be good for the brain.

“Theater is an especially powerful medium of expression for people with Alzheimer’s,” Basting told the Trib, “because it enables them to stand up in front of an audience and tell the people, both who care for them and who love them, how they feel.”

Basting has a doctorate in theatre arts and is an associate professor in UWM’s theatre department.
