Music and Mirth

I don’t want to show off no more, but as someone who has played one on school trips, I can only imagine the hilarity of a musical comedy called “The Drowsy Chaperone.” Check out the Sunset Playhouse’s rendition, which opens Friday, July 15, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Furlan Auditorium, 800 Elm Grove Road, in Elm Grove. From the Web:

“The fun begins when a die-hard musical theater fan sits onstage and shares his favorite Broadway cast album… As the record spins, the musical comes to life in the man’s apartment, with characters popping out of the woodwork and sidestepping through his Frigidaire. This joyous Tony Award-winning musical celebration is a love letter to the classic Broadway musical full of eye-popping glitz and stunning surprises!”
