Not only is Milwaukee comedy growing, but the diversity of acts is broader than ever. Improv group Homegrown Electric Circus jokes about it in promoting its latest show, Friday, Sept. 2. Offering to change up its format, Homegrown Electric Circus suggests several alternative approaches, only to realize that each is represented by an existing group. From the web:
“Well I guess it will just be Homegrown Electric Circus doing their regular comedy thing at Comedy Sportz for only $5! But this WILL be a special show because Evan Koepnick is going to be leaving forever! And by forever I mean for the next several months; because he’s become a member of The Shakespeare and Company conservatory in Boston, MA! So come on out, have a laugh, and buy Evan a drink or several as we send him off to Beantown.”
In sum: Homegrown Electric Circus, 8:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2, 420 S. 1st St. $5 cash.
