Sketch? You Betcha’!

Although the comedy scene in Milwaukee and beyond seems to be getting stronger and stronger every week, it’s mostly been hilarious stand up and improvisation that takes the stage.

Sketch comedy has not been a major presence in Milwaukee other than Broadminded and Bye Bye Liver for years.  This weekend  Sunset Playhouse will host a youth sketch comedy show to prove to audiences that high school students are funny.

From the web…

What happens when you get a group of talented high school students together, put them in a room, and let them create their own characters, laugh hard together, write some great scripts and really use their imaginations? An Evening of Original Sketch Comedy! Sunset Playhouse School for the Arts’ High School Acting Troupe – The Actletes – will make you laugh all night as you watch their own original sketches. With titles like…Too Hip (hop) For You, Frustration on the Horizon, and The Queen’s Gobbledygook (and so many more) what won’t there be to enjoy?! Bring everyone for a fun night at the theater. What a great way to laugh and support an amazing group of high school actors and writers!
