As if what happens in the world isn’t funny enough, you’ve got comedians making a living from ginning up current events on “Weekend Update,” “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “The Colbert Report” – and now Milwaukee’s own “Talking Points.”
Each month, a crew of veteran performers delivers extemporaneous humor on contemporary issues chosen by the audience. The cast includes hard-core news followers. (At the Milwaukee Comedy Festival, I caught a Lee Rowley character mention that reporters don’t have bylines in The Economist – the British magazine covering business and financial affairs.)
The news-oriented improv group’s next show is 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at ComedySportz, 420 S. 1st St. Admission: $5.
Below, get the performers’ assessment of their first show in August.
