Laughter has therapeutic value. If you need evidence, reserve a spot for the free, family-friendly comedy event this weekend at the Jewish Community Center in Whitefish Bay.
It’s called “Humor, Health & Hope,” and it’s aimed at cancer survivors and their families.
From the web: “You’ll find our program is designed with something for everyone – men, women, children, family and friends. From support services such as Family and Friends group and Kid Support™ to Healthy Lifestyles activities such as stress reduction, Tai Chi and Zumba, you are invited participate, without charge, and take from the program what you need.”
Among the plans is a 6 p.m. performance by funny guy/juggler Scott Burton (who also is a cancer survivor) and Dave Coulier (above), the stand-up, impressionist, television host and actor best known for playing Joey on the TV sitcom “Full House.”
The program runs from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, June 9, at 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd.
