For Father’s Day, I got a basketball with the signature of David Stern stamped on it. Since when does the commissioner of the National Basketball Association qualify as someone worthy of autographing a ball? Is that some way of authenticating my microfiber basketball, like the signature of the U.S. Treasury secretary on a dollar bill? (Not that I received any of those as a gift.)
Meanwhile, now that the NBA season is finally over, a certifiable player is headed to Milwaukee. And , yes, longsuffering Bucks fans, he’s a big man.
Shaquille O’Neal’s All Star Comedy Jam is playing Friday, June 29, at The Riverside Theater.
Milwaukee is the third stop on a 19-city tour that started last week in Chicago and ends up in Atlanta on New Year’s Eve.
Shaq’s starting lineup includes:
- Host Gary Owen, whose credits include “Think Like A Man”
- Capone, aka “The Gangsta of Comedy”
- Tony Roberts, not the one in old Woody Allen movies
- Michael Blackson, who calls himself “The African King of Comedy”
- DJ Spinderella
