Here’s to Dads

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Congress designated Mother’s Day a national holiday in 1914. 

Father’s Day followed suit much later. President Nixon signed it into law in 1972.

So the first official Father’s Day was Sunday, June 18, 1972 – the day after the Watergate break-in. 

To paraphrase our friend Will Durst, you can’t make this stuff up.
