No Kidding

Besides  establishing himself as a performer and instructor of both sketch and improvisational comedy, Patrick Schmitz is a playwright.
His latest creation includes some of his students in the cast and an exclamation mark in the title. It’s “The Comedy Kid!” And it’s showing for two nights only.
From Facebook: “A comedy play that follows the struggles of one kid fighting off the school bully, running away from home, getting mixed up with the Mafia, chasing after true love, and being hunted down by two detectives in order to follow his dream of being on stage with the help of his comedy coach.”
Catch one or both of the performances at 7 p.m., Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16, at ComedySportz, 420 S. 1st St.
The cast is a tribute to Patrick’s reputation and includes the talents of:
  • Maxwell Zupke
  • Emilie Lozier
  • Joey Flegel-Mishlove
  • Lindsey Walcott
  • Jen Ganson
  • James Boland
  • Dave Lane
  • Erik Koconis
  • Robby McGhee
  • and Kris Puddicombe (as Grandpa)

It’s a family-friendly show, and at $10 a ticket makes a sweet pre-Father’s Day gift.
