A year ago, we introduced you to The Improvised Musical (T.I.M.), the brainchild of Jacob Bach and Mary Baird, which sought to present monthly one-hour musicals improvised from audience suggestions.
July 19, T.I.M. turns 1.
To mark the occasion, we caught up with Jacob and a few other original cast members – Mary Kelly and band members Steve Baird and Mike Kellar – to talk about how the show has evolved and endured.
The anniversary show is at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 19, at ComedySportz, 420 S. 1st St. Admission is $5 at the door. But you can pay an extra $3 and stay for the improvised comedy of Running With, immediately following the musical.
Plus, catch The Improvised Musical in the seventh annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival. T.I.M. is scheduled for the 7:30 p.m. set on Thursday, Aug. 9, along with Running With and the astounding standup comic Ryan Lowe. Mark your calendar. Order your tickets. The Comedy fest runs from Aug. 3 through Aug. 11 at the new Next Act Theatre space, in Milwaukee’s Fifth Ward.
