Just off the successful running of his original play “The Comedy Kid,” the indefatigable Patrick Schmitz has announced plans for the ninth installment of the whimsical whirlwind Sketch 22.
That’s where 10 teams of Milwaukee writers, 10 local directors and 40 nearby actors and actresses have 22 hours in which to conceive, write, cast, direct, rehearse and perform 10 separate comedy sketches. (Pictured to the right are participants in the eighth Sketch 22 in January.)
The writers get their assignments Friday night, July 13. The show begins at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 14, at ComedySportz, 420 S. 1st St. Tickets are $10, and the proceeds benefit the seventh annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival, which runs Aug.3-11.
