In the year and a half since he first tried standup comedy, Ryan Mason has been performing three or four times a week, thanks in part to the Caste of Killers Comedy Collective and the various open mics it has organized around Milwaukee.
Ryan emcees the open mic on the second and fourth Thursdays every month at Art Bar, in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood. He also hosts the caste’s Killer Radio show.
This spring, Ryan was runner-up* in a month-long competition for featured slots at the Milwaukee Comedy Festival. As a result, he’s performing in the 10 p.m. show on Friday, Aug. 10, at Next Act Theatre’s space, 255 S. Water St.
In an interview with Milwaukee Comedy, Ryan talked a bit about the support he’s found in the Milwaukee comedy community.
