But I feel compelled to point out the occasional freebies in the Milwaukee comedy community – like all the open mics, where you can witness the rise and ripening of homegrown talent.
One of those venues is Rounding Third, 6317 W. Bluemound Road, where comics – established and wannabes – gather on Sunday nights to practice their art. I’m told it’s like the longest-running open mic in Milwaukee. And who would lie to me?
This Sunday, Sept. 30, being the last Sunday of the month, also means the Comedy Conclave will be convening before the Rounding Third open mic. Starting at 6 p.m., comics will gather to swap stories and share insights on humor and performing.
Led by man-about-comedy Erik Koconis, the discussion topic this month is “Minutia, the little things we’ve discovered on stage and off that keep the laughs rolling.” And yes, it’s free.
