Imagine “Glee,” “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” and “Saturday Night Live” rolled into one. Only instead of denting your couch cushions in front of the TV, your butt’s on the edge of a seat in a cozy Milwaukee theater with ample parking. And instead of passively humming or chuckling alone in your living room, you’re part of a giddy audience having a say in what the show is about. That’s the idea behind The Improvised Musical (T.I.M), the monthly show that presents spontaneous musical theater prompted by audience suggestions. There’s even a heal-rocking three-piece ensemble, The Improvised Band, which doesn’t just accompany the actors as they sing and dance but often instigates the musical numbers.
T.I.M.’s next performance is the October Halloween Show, set for 7:30 p.m., Thusday, Oct. 18, at ComedySportz Milwaukee, 420 S. 1stSt. Admission is only $5. The bar and restaurant are open, so you don’t even have to worry about feeding yourself. And you know it’ll beat the cold pizza and skunky beer you’ve got at home.
