Reruns of our favorite childhood TV shows offer a sense of nostalgia similar to what we experience tasting that special meatloaf our grandmother used to make or sniffing the cheap bottled scent reminiscent of our first date. Entire television networks have based their business on programming familiar old series or movies. That helps explain the success of Milwaukee Comedy’s Retro Comedy Night, a monthly show that re-enacts an entire episode of a classic TV sitcom using some of Milwaukee’s most talented comedians. Which TV show is presented is always a surprise to the audience – and always a crowd pleaser. Retro Comedy night also features fresh performances by local stand-up and improv artists.
The next Retro Comedy Night is at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 23 and includes:
- Greg Bachperforming stand-up comedy, and
- The Improvised Musical – improvising a song-and-dance story based on audience suggestions.
