As the cold snow and subzero windchills blow into Milwaukee, it’s wise to plan a cozy getaway to avoid the elements and enjoy yourself with friends. What better way than to huddle in a basement warming up to some of the funniest comics in the Upper Midwest!
At 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9, the producers of the Ragtime Variety Hour and Milwaukee Comedy present Chicago’s all-female Hoo Ha Comedy. The place is the Arcade Theatre, in the Underground Collaborative, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., lower level. Admission is $10 at the door or $7 in advance.
The show marks the return of Lara Beitz (pictured), winner of Milwaukee’s Funniest Comic Competition in 2012, sponsored by the Caste of Killers Comedy Collective. Lara also was a featured performer in the 7th annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival. She since has moved up and on to Chicago, where she’s a producer of Standup Standup.
Members of Hoo Ha Comedy Ali Clayton and Meredith Kachel will join Lara. The evening lineup, hosted by Steve Breese, also includes Milwaukee-based comedians:
- Lisan Wood, producer of Ragtime Comedy
- Allison Dunne, finalist in the Battle Royale for Milwaukee’s Funniest Comic (also a Caste of Killers production)
- Liz Ziner,1st runner up in the Battle Royale for Milwaukee’s Funniest Comic
As an added bonus, NightPunch will provide music.
Seating is limited, so don’t delay.
