Have a blast from your past by enjoying an all-new rerun of one of your favorite childhood TV sitcoms.
Retro Comedy Night – 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18
This is when some of Milwaukee’s finest comedians gather for a one-time re-enactment of an episode of one of your old beloved TV serials from the `70s, ’80s or the ’90s. We’re not telling you which show. That’s part of the delight. It’s like plopping down on the seedy couch in the musty basement of your best friend’s parents and turning on the TV to revel in whatever classic show happens to be on.
The only difference is this is live theater and it’s in the Arcade Theatre, in the lower level of the Shops of Grand Avenue, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave. And your best friend is sleeping on his parents’ seedy basement couch since he got released from rehab.
Again, we’re not saying which nostalgic television comedy you’ll be treated to, but we can disclose that it’s being directed by the multi-amazing Mara McGhee.
The cast includes:
- Sean Jackson
- Marti Gobel
- Devere Burnett
- James Carrington
- Raven Dockery
- Aja Luckett
- Audwin Short and
- Bria Cloyd
Plus, there’s a bonus standup segment from Milwaukee-based comedian Steve Breese.
This is a presentation of Milwaukee Comedy, which is taking submissions for its 10th annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival in August.
