Congratulations to Steve Breese, a Milwaukee comedy talent and indispensable Milwaukee Comedy behind-the-scenes workhorse.
This weekend, April 9-11, Steve appears at Milwaukee’s Comedy Cafe, along with Carmen Morales, setting up the laughs for headliner John Conroy. From the Cafe:
D.C. native, John Conroy, has devoted himself to making people laugh. John’s material is smart, aggressive and uncompromising – which makes him a comedian that you won’t soon forget.
Shortly after he relocated to Minnesota, his peers voted him “2008 Best New Comic in the Twin Cities”. His sharp and well-crafted material then earned him the title of “2009 Funniest Person in the Twin Cities”.
John Conroy: Washington, D.C. native John Conroy brings an everyman’s attitude to smart, sharply written material that runs the gamut from shrewd observations to social satire. Shortly after moving toMinnesota in 2008 his peers voted him Best New Comic in the Twin Cities, and the following year he took the top prize in the Funniest Person in the Twin Cities Contest. Over the next two years he made a rapid transition from opener to headliner, playing hundreds of shows each year and touring the top clubs throughout the midwest and East Coast. Conroy is a jovial iconoclast whose good-humored but aggressive act makes a lasting impression
As for Steve, besides performing locally and regionally, he lines up national comedians for Milwaukee appearances, he arranges regular local shows such as Clothesline Comedy and SockiTumi, and he interviews touring talents such as Maria Bamford and Sam Morril.
