Arrive early for the October Halloween show of The Improvised Musical (T.I.M) and treat yourself to a free improv preview.The ComedySportz Recreational League is showcasing new improvisational comedy games beginning at7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, in the garage theater of ComedySportz, 420 S. 1stSt.
The Rec League is an organized group of ComedySportz amateurs (from the French, meaning they work at playing this stuff – Irish definition – just for the love of it). The Game-O-Matic Showcase lets the rec league participants introduce innovations to the clean-humor internationally known comedy shows, which began in Milwaukee in 1984.
Of course, some improv aficionados (Italian) may be going just to the Game-O-Matic Showcase.
But if you’re planning to attend T.I.M., you could still catch the first few games of the Rec League show and make the 7:30 p.m. opening of the spontaneous musical, right across the hall, in the main ComedySportz arena. Admission to T.I.M. is $5.
In both venues, food and drink service will be available.
