Full Frontal Puppetry: Summer Sell Out show!

Here’s an advance warning to clear your calendar for 7:30 p.m. in the next couple of months to see what its creators describe as “an absurd, light-hearted, but razor-sharp take on puppetry and comedy that is unexpected, unpredictable, and certainly unique.”

We’re talking “Full Fontal Pϋppetry: Summer Sell-Out,” a live-action puppet show from the Milwaukee troupe Angry Young Men. Alice Wilson, founder of the Milwaukee silent-film comedy troupe the  M.U.T.E.S., will be the guest hostess.

The dates are June 8, 9, 15 and 16 and July 13, 14, 19 and 20. The place: Soulstice Theatre, 3770 S. Pennsylvania Ave., in St. Francis. Admission is $10.

According to the misnamed Angry Young Men:  “The puppeteers appear as shadows behind the characters, and their show is a combination of sketch comedy, musical numbers, political humor, new video material, and fractured poetry. They say the show is “kid-friendly (but not necessarily kid-safe)” and rated PG-13 “for Puppet Gore and an adolescent sense of humor.”
