The third round of comedy contestants face off Thursday, April 26, at Art Bar Riverwest to see who wins a coveted featured slot in the 7thannual Milwaukee Comedy Festival.Catch the comics for free at 8:30 p.m. at Art Bar, 722 E. Burleigh St.
Two previous bouts this month each pitted 15 contestants performing five minutes of standup before judges, who scored performers in four categories, including audience choice. Five contestants move on from each round, culminating in 15 finalistsvying for the championship at 8pm on May 4 at ComedySportz.
The battle is sponsored by the Caste of Killers Comedy Collective and Milwaukee Comedy Festival, which is staging its annual event showcasing standup, improv and sketch talent – both locally and from across the country – Aug. 3-11 at Milwaukee’s Next Act Theatre.
The Caste of Killers adds: “The winner will also receive a spot in COK’s The Milwaukee Stand-Up Comedy Showcase, the Byron Beck Trophy, and other prizes to be announced later once we’ve had a chance to look through our basements for other items.”
