Besides watching TV and playing cards, I can’t remember doing much of anything you’d vaguely consider cultural during the holidays when I was growing up. Nowadays, dragging the family to the theater or a ballet or concert has become part of our seasonal tradition. This year, there’s no shortage of shows to choose.
Bunny Gumbo Theatre Company, a group that produces original works by local writers performed by local artists, is staging a one-night fundraising show with a silent auction. The show features eight plays previously conceived, written, directed and performed within a 24-hour period.
From the web: “That time between Thanksgiving and the New Year seems to fly by and sometimes we forget to simply take some time to relax and be entertained. So in the spirit of giving, we wish to give you an evening of pure entertainment.”
“The Best of Combat Theatre…so far” is scheduled for 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, 325 W. Walnut St. Tickets are $25. For more information, please click here.
Someone said that that the primary row of seat is not the top because I cannot see a tip of foot of ballet artiste.
