Interview and Video: Worst Case Scenario!

In their upcoming monthly theme show, Worst Case Scenario presents a celebration of the world of Video Games with an all-new and completely improvised comedy show: “The Console Wars”.

We have an exclusive interview and a promo video for the show (in the style of Mortal Combat and Street Fighter of course!). Take a look below, and go see the show Friday, April 1st, at 11:59pm, at ComedySportz, 420 S. 1st St.  It’s right after the Comedy Cage Match Fundraiser, so see two great shows in the same night!

Here’s the promo video:

Worst Case Scenario Interview!
1.) How did WCS get started and who is involved?
The group consists of Andrew Pauly, Alex Grindeland, David Lane, Greg Bach, Kesan Holt, Mary Baird and Ryan Spiering, but our monthly performance cast varies. Worst Case Scenario started in the spring of 2010 as a comedy group which was looking to do long form imrov. After we discussed the direction of the show and what we were looking to achieve, we came up with the momthly theme element. Also, as ComedySportz players, we decided it would be a good idea to involve our short form work as well!

2.) What can people expect from a WCS show and/or how is it different from other shows in town?

People can expect a different show every month, not just because it is improv and not just with differing themes, but in presentation. Sometimes we will focus on a narrative, like with our Zombies show or we will break things up with short form games and/or shorter scenes like with our Star Wars or Quentin Tarantino shows. It comes down to what we think would translate best from theme to stage. We spend a good deal of time looking at our chosen subject and from there, craft a show which will be enjoyable and fresh for both the audience and ourselves.

3.) What is this month’s theme and what does that mean we’ll see?
This month’s theme is “The Console Wars”. You will see improv games and scenes based around the world of video games. We are paying homage to the games we all grew up with, the ones we have now, all while having a damn good time doing it.

4.) When, where, how much?
11:59pm Friday, April 1 at ComedySportz, 420 S. 1st St Milwaukee.
$5 Cash (18 and older)
Call 414-272-8888 for reservations.

5.) Anything else?

Thanks to Milwaukee Comedy for doing this and taking an interest in Worst Case Scenario. Thanks to all of the other comedy groups, we are witnessing a scene grow month by month and it is amazing! We also want to thank all of the fans who have made the past year a great experience and look forward to seeing new faces this month and beyond.
