Midway through the football season, it’s about time to venture off the couch in your man cave or the bar stool at your local sports pub and do what real men do for entertainment: See a play.
Pink Banana Theatre Co. has just the ticket for you: Any Given Monday. It’s a dark comedy that the New York Post described as “so offensive, so amoral and so generally unpleasant that you’ll hate yourself for laughing at it. The problem is, you’ll hate yourself a lot.”
The play, by Bruce Graham, features the talents of Joe Krapf as Lenny, Paul Madden as Mick, Marissa Clayton as Sarah and Reva Fox as Risa. It’s directed by Matt Kemple, artistic producer of Pink Banana.
From the website:
Lenny is a great guy: a good teacher, an excellent father and a loving husband. So when his wife leaves him for a smooth-talking lothario who builds Walmarts, his life is shattered. While Lenny consoles himself with pizza and Monday Night Football, his best friend Mick takes matters into his own hands. Now Lenny must decide what he will stand up for and who he will stand up to. How far is too far to get back to happily-ever-after?
