Known better for their individual accomplishments as stand-up comedians, Greg Bach, Ryan Lowe and Stacy Pawlowski got a chance to work together writing an overnight comedy sketch for the semi-annual Sketch 22 show.

They so enjoyed the experience that they formed their own sketch group and called it Dynamo Kickstand. The results have been impressive enough to get them selected to the 10 Milwaukee Comedy Festival.

“We, as a group wanted to be part of this wonderful showcase of talent from around the world,” Greg says. “Honestly, it was a no-brainer.”

Continuing to write (and even perform and direct) as volunteers for Sketch 22, Dynamo Kickstand has created and performed shows of its own, occasionally bringing in guest artists and combining efforts from other Milwaukee-based sketch groups.

“Stand-up is a very insular endeavor, so it’s great to collaborate on a different area of comedy and push our own boundaries of writing,” Greg says.

Describing their work, Greg, Ryan and Stacy say:

“They combine video and live segments in their energetic and bizarre brand of comedy. Some sketches contain harsh language and sexual innuendo.”

They have performed and volunteered at previous Milwaukee Comedy Fests individually, but now Dynamo Kickstand can contribute as a group performing sketch comedy in Wisconsin’s largest comedy event.

“It provides an audience who don’t usually attend comedy shows in the city the chance to see what Milwaukee has to offer,” Greg says. “Also, we have the chance to step up our game and give a truly entertaining experience.”

The Milwaukee Comedy Festival’s first three days, Thursday through Saturday, are at Next Act Theatre, 255 S. Water St. Day Four is at Turner Hall Ballroom, 1040 N. 4th St. Click here for details and tickets while they last.
