Al & Jim’s One-Man Show

Jim and Al are really James and Alex.

Their one-man show really is two men. But they’re theatrically schizophrenic, so it’s as if they’re an entire improv troupe.

Let’s let them explain via Facebook: “Witness as Alex Grindeland and James Boland attempt the impossible (or rather…very very difficult). These two improv virtuosos will use audience suggestions to create completely improvised scenes. Alex and James will individually compose separate worlds in which they play every character. Then the men will work together to combine the dual narratives, creating one hilarious, epic tale.”

Trust me. You have to see it for yourself to understand it. Here’s your chance: 11:45 p.m., Saturday, July 14, at ComedySportz, 420 S. 1st St. Admission is $5.

You’ll be so amazed that you’ll tell your friends. And they’ll have to trust you. Until they see it for themselves. Here’s their chance: Al & Jim’s One-Man Show is scheduled for the 7:30 p.m. set on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the seventh Milwaukee Comedy Festival, which will be at Next Act Theatre, 255 S. Water St. In addition, Alex will be performing standup later that evening in the final set of the festival’s final set, later that evening. Tickets for the whole shebang are on sale now.
